Editorial Reviews:

The radio airwaves will never be safe again. The RadioSHARK adds an AM/FM radio to any Mac or PC (* Mac OS X (10.2.8 or higher) or PC running Windows XP) but that's just the beginning. The RadioSHARK can record any AM or FM radio broadcast in real time. You can also program it to record a scheduled show, or to pause' live radio so you can return right where you left off moments or even hours before (See What is Time-Shift Recording?' sidebar above). RadioSHARK includes a full-featured application that controls all radio and recording functions. Favorite station presets can be set with the click of a mouse, and new stations can be scanned and tuned with ease. The application is also where you program Time-Shift Recording, either to take a break without missing any of a show or to record your favorite broadcast to listen to later. The RadioSHARK connects to and is powered by USB. The fin-shaped device acts as an antenna and can be positioned for best reception and recording. Any recorded broadcast can be transferred to an iPod or any other AIFF-compatible digital music player to replay on the go. The RadioSHARK connects to and is powered by USB. User Comments about the Griffin Technology RadioShark AM / FM Desktop Radio with Time-Shift Recording

I contacted customer support and they said it would be some time until they had a Windows7 driver. However, it is prone to poor reception with some orientations but this can usually be fixed by moving the antenna around to find a better position. Making time shift recordings with the RadioShark1 software is awkward and time consuming to program. They have to be turned off. I do not like the software though. It is also susceptible to interference. There have been VCR's for 30 years it was about time this came along.

My stereo and television create too much interference for good reception. Neither device will work with Windows7. Sound quality is good but not CD quality. My house is in a rural area 30 miles from town and the RadioShark still gets a good signal without an auxiliary antenna. In areas with strong radio signals, reception isn't a problem. Software from the RadioShark2 can be downloaded from the company website and is an improvement. The device works well.

Mine came with a CD.

Other than that, it's a fun addition for your computer.

It started literally "EATING" GB's from my hard drive.

In just a few days- my hard drive space went down by more than 100 GB's.

It caused havoc on my Mac.

I installed the software.

But make sure you get the latest update for this item.

And that, just after using the radio only once.

Cool radio for your computer.

I live in the San Antonio area and can only pick up one station with enough clarity to record. Fornutaly for me the one station I can recieve is the one I wanted to record so the product is working for me. The fatal flaw in this product is the radio reciever itself. The software has a few minor glitches that are annoying but not fatal. It was easy to install and worked right out of the box. On any other radio I own there are a dozen stations that come in very clear. The Radio Shark is almost a good product.

Avoid this product, of course, and if this one is so bad, probably any others by this company. But generally FM antennas need to be bigger than AM, and the AM doesn't work, so.). So I threw it away as useless. My Radioshark was non-returnable. The manufacturer sells an extra antenna, but the reviews are not good. (Note: I bought it for recording sports on AM; I did not have a reason to try the FM. In comparison with radios located at the identical spot in my house, this radio gets truly awful AM reception.

I'm glad I did. TiVo for Radio. I now listen to my favorite talk shows when I have time to listen to them and I skip the commercials. I almost didn't buy it because of these bad reception reviews.
