Editorial Reviews:

Because every ear is different, Shure sound isolating earphones come with a broad assortment of sleeves to ensure a personalized fit, as well as to ensure proper sound isolation. These reusable, silicone sleeves, with a triple flange design, form a tighter seal than flex sleeves while holding the earphones firmly in place. For use with the E1c, E3c and E5c Shure Sound-Isolating earphones.

User Comments about the Shure PA755 Triple-Flange Sleeves for Shure Sound-Isolating Earphones (1 Pair)

After reading about a modification that cut off the top flange, I figured I'd give it a try since otherwise I was going to throw them away. I couldn't insert them far enough for a good seal and both the bass and my ears were hurting. The fit and thus the bass response were greatly improved. After simply cutting off the top flange (and not doing the rest of the mod which trims off part of the other end) these are now keepers. Initially, I was very disappointed with these sleeves.

They help earphones stay in place when donning helmet. Sound isolation is excellent. This is the only comfortable tip for my rather small ear canal.

Anyway, cut to my recent order of these triple-flange sleeves. Once you get them on there they seem to stay. Plus these are comfortable - they feel just like the musician's earplugs I wear out to nightclubs - once you get them set in your ear canal you'll forget they're there ('cept for the great sound, that is). (This issue is why I took the rating down to four stars). They were kind of difficult to put onto the headphones - I recommend twisting them down onto the stem like a screw once you work the opening over the tip of the stem. I had a doctor tell me recently to lay off the q-tips, and I'm sure what they were really seeing was the damage being done by shoving in those messed up headphones. They sound just great, and they stay put through my workout - no more constant shoving back into my ear - hooray. I love the sound of my Shure headphones but hated the foam sleeves which were disintegrating, hurting, and constantly falling out of my ears.

Using these was almost like being in a near-field monitoring (i.e., studio) environment. An absolute must for anyone who uses in-ear monitors and can't afford $500 or more for custom ear molds. These are great.

After I cut off the small top and trimmed the stem to even with the 3rd (largest) flange, they work perfectly. I am hoping they do not get as nasty from ear dirt as the Complys did (I often wore them shortly after showering. The sound is terrific. Before I trimmed, they had a terrible seal (airy, no bass) and hurt my ears.

Foamies don't work so well when wet).Unless you have large ears, follow the directions and cut them. They do not block quick as much exterior sound as the comply foam tips in my opinion, but they take 2 seconds to insert for me vs having to squish the hard foam over and over to put those other ones in. They are much easier to put in than the comply tips that came with the UM1s. Thanks to reviewer Pedro for the tip on cutting off the top (smallest) flange.

It's a 10x improvement. I bought these for Westone UM1s and they work great.
