I give this 'three stars' for ease of use because of this hassle. If you use the doc connector, you may find that there is room in the cradle to accomodate the connector and cable. The audio jack on my iPod nano is on the bottom and when a cable is plugged into the jack the iPod will not sit properly in the cradle. I see it advertised for as much as $36, so be aware that there are lower cost options. I got my cradle for 1 cent plus S&H through one of the vendors on Amazon. If you are getting this to hold your iPod and you use the audio jack to run the sound to your car stereo, then approach with caution.
Sometimes the simpler the better. It holds the ipod securely while allowing me to plug the power cord into the cigarette lighter, and the other cord into my car stereo, and all for around 5 bucks. After searching through the myriad of available options for an ipod holder for my car, a friend suggested this one, and it works perfectly.
This product gave me a place to secure it and I can still see the screen. Previously, I would just keep it in my lap or on the passenger seat. I needed something to hold my Ipod Classic while in my car. The cradle fits good into the cup holder too. I have a rubber case over my Ipod, but it still fit in the cradle just fine. It's cheap, simple, but was just what I was looking for.
Probably going to go with a kensington fm transmitter to complete the package.[.]. After reading the reviews I figured it was worth a shot for my 80gb video.
It cracked easy and i was unable to plug in my aux cord with it in the holder. I bought this an answer to where to put my ipod in the car and it was ineffective.
