Editorial Reviews:

In sleek black, to go with some of today's newest MP3 and other audio players. Originally developed for professional musicians, the E3c combines WideBand MicroDriver technology with a sound isolating design to deliver rich, detailed sound with improved high end while blocking outside noise -- ideal for optimizing your listening experience with portable MP3, DVD, and CD players as well as all other audio sources. The E3c's in ear design works like an earplug to block background noise naturally. This enables you to listen comfortably at lower volumes-even in loud environments. And unlike bulky headphones utilizing active noise cancellation technology, no artifacts are introduced into your listening experience. Sound isolating earphones are also much smaller and don't require batteries. The E3c's speakers are constructed with studio-grade components to produce exceptional audio clarity, delivering detailed highs and enhanced bass that allows you to hear parts of your music you've never heard before. The E3c comes with a stylish, compact carrying case. The cable spool inside provides a convenient, tangle-free way to store your earphones.

User Comments about the Shure E3c-n Sound Isolating Earphones (Black)

I wear headphones for about 6 hours a day, so comfort and clarity are important. Great headphones, my 3rd pair from Shure.

Sure enough.took a while but they sent me another pair. The highs and mids are great. Yes skul candy is HORRIBLE quality.don't expect them to last more than 6-9 months.but it;s not like shures last you much longer.Save the money get something else. No problem shure has a 1 year full warranty on all products right.

The bass is there.but it's nothing to write home about. now a month in Im still waiting for another replacement pair. These are possibly the most comfortable ear buds once you get used to them. These lasted about 4 months if even and again left ear bud started cutting out. The left ear bud just died out one day.

The biggest issue with these is the build quality, I;d expect them to last at least a full year and a half/2 years if not longer for the price.Honestly you can get skull candy inked buds for 10-15$ if you know where to look and they wil have more bass. ok, so I got a pair of these in Feb 2009, they almost last a year.almost.

I rate the build quality 5/5. Though, I found HANC100 uncomfortable. The comfort 4/5 because of the way you need to wear it to achieve good sound. The sound is just normal.

My brother's JVC HANC100 sound is much richer and better. I ordered this earphones because I want peace and quiet while I'm studying in my room and my other buds wire is broken.

The noise-isolation 5/5. its a noise canceling headphone, but it's cheaper.

the noise isolation makes it better. The sound quality 4/5 because i dont see it great.

I also have the sennheiser cx-300 buds but its wiring is very thin, so when I got this, I'm amazed of its thickness, meaning it's more durable. It's in different league.

The noise-isolation works great.

but their overall sound is not my taste. I found one that is comfortable. First off, the cord that they use for these is REALLY rigid and stiff. and most of them fit alright, but become very uncomfortable to wear for long periods.

to me, it's too sterile. So yeah, I really don't get what all the buzz is about. They feel when you hold them like they'd be quite rugged and difficult to damage, but then again. I think that overall they output a cold and overly treble laden sound. even when I just sitting at my desk at the office, the maximum length of time that I can wear them without having to reseat them in my ears, is about five minutes.Additionally, despite the myriad of various bud adapters that they included in the package, I have not even managed to find one that both fits and also is comfortable. I have only had them for about a week, so I doubt that this initial assessment would be a good one to follow as gospel.

So during normal listening periods. They don't have the depth of bass and warmth that I prefer. I ordered these ear buds, thinking that I was going to find the pair that finally settled the argument of the best brand/model. but it doesn't fit in well enough to isolate sound properly. it barely flexes, especially in the cold. Don't get me wrong, the range of sound is broad and clear.

some of the adapters are outright disorienting, because there is no way that they'll fit with wedging them into your ears with more force than I'd like to be required to use.As far as the sound goes, I am not completely pleased with that either. So once you put the ear buds in, one wrong turn of the head, or one jostle the wrong way and they come loose and fall out. The only really nice things about them is the fact that they seem to be constructed (aside from the rigid/non-flexible cord) quite solidly. but I am left feeling disappointed and a little irked.

It was not Amazon that made the switch; the order came from Electronics Expo. Perhaps the SE210 is better, but it seems pretty sleazy to send a different item without asking the buyer. I ordered the Shure E3c but was sent, without notification, the Shure SE210.
