IT IS NOT. i purchased this with the understanding that it was compatible with 2G ipod touch.
I found another listing for one that is newer - I think called "Universal TuneJuice" , but I ended up with a Radio Shack model that cost more money and was larger and more cumbersome because it ran on AA batteries and I had to buy a special connector for the itouch. A Griffin tech specialist said that it should work if I reboot my itouch - she even gave me the key sequence - but alas, it still would not work. HOWEVER -- I could not get it to work w/ my iTouch 2G. There are so many different models of iPods etc out there now that you have to be sure to read the fine print and make sure you know which devices it supports. It worked, but I would have preferred this item. This was a great little item, which I got for $5 and free shipping.
IPod battery was drained and Tune Juice never functioned. Glad I didn't pay any more for it as it is useless. Changed batteries with the same results. Plugged the unit into my IPod Touch prior to trans pacific trip.
Worked one time on fresh batteries and charged my Iphone 3gs from 50% to full charge. It won't do anything now. After that the batteries are dead. Product is useless.
Do not buy if you have a new iPod. Does not work with iPod 2nd generation.
