It just annoys other passengers.I am seriously considering buying the Duracell version instead. I purchased this product a couple years ago, and having used it regularly for airline travel, I can say that the switch is an annoying weakness. When carried in your pocket it can easily be switched on or into flashlight mode. The flashlight feature should be eliminated.
I was definitely let down when I plugged it into my iPod when the battery was dead and it didn't work. Do not buy. Complete waste of money, not to mention the rest of my flight I had an uncharged iPod and I was planning on using this device for charging throughout my trip. Not Worth it. I have an iPod touch so beware if that is what you are purchasing it for. It does NOT charge all ipods. I didn't have time to sample it out before I left so I took it assuming it did what it was supposed to. Yes I can be reimbursed but who wants to pay for shipping and ship it back. I bought this for a trip I was taking since the flight was a couple of hours long.
Let me know. I bought it for my Iphone 3G, and at first it did not work, but i did a litte research and Ta Da, it works using Lithium ion batteries such as "Energizer brand"(2 batteries for around $10) but then I decided to try a different brand at a better price and again "bingo" "Duracell PowerPix" (OxyHidroxy type)4 batteries for around $6.I hope this review was helpul.
I wish I was able to return it. I was really frustrated to get this as a gift and find out it does not support the iPhone 3gs.
I bought it to take on a long plane flight and will take a couple of extra double a's along. This works well with the second generation of the ITouch.
