These batteries leak after only a short time off use. I am going to contact the manufacturer next. These batteries have ruined my Mag Lite and a Children's rocker because they have leaked. If you have these batteries, take them out of your device immediately(especially if you use them in children's toys.
Rayovac wants me to send them back with receipt.Don't have the time and can't find the receipt. Not worth saving a couple of dollars. Lessen learned NEVER purchase Rayovac batteries, Buy the good batteries Duracell or Energizer. Purchased a 12 pack of D batteries a few months ago, they are leaking in the package.
i can not believe this.
i wish i'd bought a more expensive brand, something i could rely on to keep my house safe.
second, batteries should last 9-months, i don't think that's asking too much.
and again, batteries in both of the two pack have begun to leak, so it was not an isolated single battery or single package problem, both packages had battery leaks.
i pray they didn't ingest any before i saw this.
first it's dangerous, my pets (or if i had children) could and actually might have gotten into these.
it is now october '09, only 9-months later, and both packages inside and outside are covered in a white liquid substance and you can see that a few batteries in both packages are clearly leaking and have a solid crystal substance on them as well.
and it was not environmental, i kept them in the same place in the same cabinet that i keep my other batteries and in fact some AA Duracell batteries i bought at the same time, which i inspected and showed no signs of leakage whatsoever.
i purchased this two pack in january '09.
UPDATE 1/8/10: My 6 cell "MAG RAM" is still as bright as day #1. Would suggest to periodically inspect cells that are installed. It worked until it died, the cells coroded, swelled, ruined the tube. had a few go bad in the carton, on the shelf, typical coroded swelled BAD unit. Highly pleased with this battery purchase.UPDATE: 7/10.CAUTION. Makes for a cheaper re-load, life of this product is reserved for a later comment. Had a leading name brand set of cells ruin 3D LED Maglite. Seem to work well in my 6 cell MAGLITE battering ram.
I would recommend them as a lower cost alternative to Energizer or Duracell brands. These batteries perform just as well as comparable "D" batteries that cost more.
