This travel charger for ipod/itouch is very compact and it charges my itouch without any problems.
Then I got a "white-screen of death" on the iPod. It only got worse. The display showed up but nothing played. I can't prove it was this charger, but the charger was the only thing different. Itunes doen't recognize it anymore & I have to take it in to get it fixed. I used this charger once, then all of a sudden it won't work when I plug the iPod into the USB in my car.
Then stopped working while overheating. The good news is that the USB cord still works and the Ipod Touch was not damaged. When I discovered the problem, the charger was so hot, you could not touch it. It worked fine for the first 3 months (used about twice per week).
Was able to charge both. But not worth the risk of a fire to try that. So hot that it felt like it would burn my finger. It got hot both times.
I don't think I will use it again. Nice compact design and really good price.
But the area near the connector got VERY hot. Perhaps if it was used while touching something that acts like a heatsink it might stay cool.
When I unplugged it, I could smell that electrial fire smell. I tried using it once on my Blackberry and once on my iPod.
Used it to try charging my BlackBerry Bold 9700 and iPod Touch. Not sure why other say it does not get hot.
Good for travel.
y pues simplemente funciona. no lo pienses, este aparato hace su trabajo, y no hay mejor precio no puedo creer que el original de apple puede llegar a costar 30 dlls. Cuando pedí este cargador, la verdad esperaba muy poco por el precio que pagué, pero al recibirlo me sorprendió la calidad del plástico, en la foto se ve muy opaco, pero realmente es blanco brilloso, muy parecido al usado en las mac, ipods, etc.
